People who care for people with disabilities face many challenges and can benefit from support and assistance. Appropriate supports are crucial to the lives of many parents caring for a person with a diagnosed disability. Support is associated with better family quality of life, functioning, satisfaction, and a reduction in stress. Family support across the lifespan strengthens capacities to support family members with disabilities in achieving equal opportunity, independent living, full participation, and economic self-sufficiency.
We've added a few resources that families may be eligible to take advantage of.
Each night in the United States, 17.4 million families go to bed hungry.
An additional 6.9 million families face the risk of food insecurity, uncertain of where their next meal may come from. To enhance its outreach and coverage, Accessibility Bridge has established a food pantry to provide supplemental nutrition for households consisting of individuals with disabilities and limited financial means.
For our local communities (MD, VA, DC), we are able to provide food and drink items as they are available.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, adults with disabilities report experiencing frequent mental distress almost 5 times as often as adults without disabilities. Due to our co-location and partnership with Diversified Counseling Services, we are able to offer mental health services, social skills training and educational assessments through several of our programs.

Is your Winter Closet in need of any specific items?
We appreciate all new, cold weather-appropriate apparel, accessories, handbags, shoes, undergarments, socks, sheets, comforters and blankets. However, our greatest needs are for adult items (winter coats, undergarments, socks, hats, gloves, electric blankets, comforters weighted blankets).
Do you accept men’s clothing?
Absolutely! We accept product donations for men, women and children.

Absolutely! Financial contributions enable us to offer a wide range of programs designed to further our mission of encouraging and supporting differently-abled individuals in the areas of independence and inclusion.
