People who care for people with disabilities face many challenges and can benefit from support and assistance. Appropriate supports are crucial to the lives of many parents caring for a person with a diagnosed disability. Support is associated with better family quality of life, functioning, satisfaction, and a reduction in stress. Family support across the lifespan strengthens capacities to support family members with disabilities in achieving equal opportunity, independent living, full participation, and economic self-sufficiency.
We've added a few resources that families may be eligible to take advantage of.
Each night in the United States, 17.4 million families go to bed hungry.
An additional 6.9 million families live on the verge of food insecurity. That means they don’t always know where their next meal is coming from. In order to expand our outreach and service areas, Accessibility Bridge established a food pantry for the purpose of providing supplemental food to families composed of people with disabilities and limited financial resources.
For our local communities (MD, VA, DC), we are able to provide food and drink items as they are available.
We are always in need of nonperishable food items or toiletry items. You may drop off your donations Monday - Friday, 10am - 3pm at our office in Prince George's County: 9006 Woodyard Rd, Clinton, MD 20735 (Inside of the Diversified Counseling Services Building)

Winter's closet is an initiative where Accessibility Bridge provides needed clothing and warm items during the cold months (October-February) to people with disabilities and their families.
