The mission of Accessibility Bridge is to build a community of caregivers and supporters of people with disabilities while creating a safe space where we can gather to receive and share valuable resources.
We encourage families, friends, caregivers, educators, etc. to empower people with disabilities to integrate into their communities by being their connection to information and resources.
We do this by partnering with organizations to help build their knowledge, capacity, awareness and acceptance in supporting people with disabilities. We assist in program development, implementation plans, data collection and monitoring systems (to name a few) that will improve desirable outcomes for people with disabilites in inclusive settings.
To be an active ally facilitating positive change, inclusion practices and the enthusiasm needed to support those with disabilities in their independence-driven endeavors with respect to employment, housing, education, athletics, social systems, and healthcare.
We believe in helping people with disabilities enhance and highlight their skills and create opportunities that lead to increased independence, stability and growth. The best way to do this is to ensure that the people who are championing and supporting them are well-equipped with the knowledge and resources needed to facilitate positive change.
We are guided in this work by the personal experiences of the leaders, staff and volunteers of Accessibility Bridge and the connections we have throughout the disability community.
We are strengthened through partnerships with other providers, agencies, foundations, businesses, individuals, educational programs/institutions, corporations and nonprofits. We collaborate with these resources, and other community assets, to offer programs and provide resources that are effective and fiscally sound.
Accessibility Bridge has signature initiatives housing smaller programs that focus on community engagement and education, athletics and inclusion.
What makes Accessibility Bridge unique is that our model of resource delivery is powered by the variety of inclusive resources that we've strategically pieced together. The passion behind the mission and the lifetime-vested interest that the founder has with the inclusion movement is evident by the standards of excellence and best practices, the environment in which our staff and volunteers can grow, contribute their best efforts and value their investment in our mission that will ensure that no person with a disability is left behind.
